Rich Results, Schema & Structured Data are Different

Rich Results, Schema & Structured Data are Different

Schema - There is no specific explanation other than that Schema is a type of language from Schema.org.

It helps to build structured data and allows the search engine to understand the website information easily. For better ranking and organic traffic, the stuffed content should be properly structured as the Google documentation is expecting.

To be simple, schema markup is required before moving into the structured data.

Structured Data - It is simply nothing but the detailed information of a web page. For instance: If we are having a recipe web page, the content should include required ingredients, cooking time, temperature, to whom it suits, calories, etc.,

Google Knowledge Graph

In simple terms, this is also a kind of rich result. The knowledge graph is an additional resource of Google used to enhance its search results. We may notice this graph while doing a search for the company name, actors, popular tv shows, and influential persons, likewise.

When getting these types of search results, you can see some special information in a box on the right side. Most importantly, anyone can write on those topics and there is a right to do that (i.e), not an official or paid promotion.

JSON-LD is a Recommended Format for Rich Results

Structured data means a lot. From the official announcement of Google, it accepts and supports the search results only from recommended structured data, and here is JSON-LD.

You may have a question about: why JSON-LD is best to support.

It is because of easy implementation and doesn’t affect the page speed and performance of the web page.

JSON-LD is Free to Use Anywhere

Unlike other SEO codes, you don't have any restrictions on using JSON-LD. The professionals can paste the code anywhere on the website as the search engine can consider it.

Furthermore, if the given listed properties are missing in your article they will not be indexed in the SERPs:

  • Headline

  • Image

  • Author

  • Author Name

  • Author URL

  • Date Published

  • Date Modified

A website will get traffic from both the mobile and desktop versions and both could be focused for better results.
